INDUSTRIAL PLACEMENT – HCM DEVELOPMENT TECHNICAL ROLES

The Human Capital Management (HCM) Fusion Development organisation is currently engaged in the biggest upgrade of functionality in the history of our products, moving all of our technology to public standard services and Web 2.0 screens. We are looking for talented individuals to join our teams and help us turn this vision into reality. Working alongside experienced developers, you will help us design, code and unit test using cutting edge technology, including the latest Oracle tools e.g. Jdeveloper, and languages such as Java and XML (providing you with solid skills for the future!).

We currently have 3 teams looking for candidates:
Core Human Rescources: a truly global development team, with over 60 people in 8 different cities around the globe, working closely as a tight knit group of dedicated software engineers. We are responsible for designing and building the functionality that underpins the entire Oracle Applications Suite for managing all types of people, such as employees and applicants, as well as managing the company structure, such as its HR policies and organization structure. We are also responsible for producing many flagship parts of the system, and as such are always in the spotlight, which makes us a very exciting team to work for.

Global Payroll Development: we develop the common components used by Oracle teams, partners and customers to deliver legislatively compliant Payroll solutions in over 50 countries and over 30 different languages. Using the latest Oracle technology, we provide the cornerstone to ensure that millions of employees around the world are paid correctly and on time.

HCM Localisations: we design and build powerful and flexible Human Resources and Payroll management business applications to cater for the needs of corporations around the world by providing country specific rules, processes and functionality. A selection of localisations we support include: U.K., U.S.A., Norway, Sweden, South Africa, China, Japan, Australia, Mexico and India. You will join a group of seasoned engineers and analysts who have a track record in delivering the number #1 HR software in the world.

Background:


  • An IT orientated degree



  • Experience in relational databases, SQL and / or Java is essential

Responsibilities:

Fusion is Oracle’s vision for next-generation enterprise technologies, applications and services to revolutionise our customer’s business. We are looking for talented individuals to join our team and help us turn this vision into reality.





We currently have two teams looking for candidates:
Product Management
Our Product Management team are skilled business people with a track record in applying the latest HR technology to business challenges.
Product Managers are responsible for producing the functional design that comprises detailed business process flows, use cases and the functional description of the application to meet the requirements. Product Managers design the user interface which involves creating wireframes to detail the page flow and then interactive prototypes that are used to demo to customers and prospects for their feedback on usability.

Quality Assurance
You will join a group of skilled QA Engineers who, as key participants in reviews of functional and technical design documentation, play an integral role in developing new functionality. Liaising with all areas of HCM Development on a regular basis, QA Engineers create functional test scripts and manually execute testing of Oracle’s HCM Applications, identifying and logging bugs and ensuring that they are correctly resolved.
Involvement in the QA Team is an excellent way to gain a valuable insight into the entire Development Lifecycle and to develop an understanding of how business processes are implemented and supported via technology. In other words, it is a chance to put the theory into practice!





Background:


  • A degree which contains any of the following aspects: Business, Human Resources Management or IT. Any degrees with an analytical content also considered.

  • Inquisitive nature, enthusiastic and willing to learn

  • Ability to view and solve problems logically

  • Willingness to contribute positively with confidence and credibility

  • Ability to understand and resolve issues

  • Ability to work to deadlines and be flexible

INDUSTRIAL PLACEMENT - HEALTHCARE AND LIFE SCIENCES (BASED IN READING)
Oracle Corporation, the world’s leading Enterprise Software Company is looking for an undergraduate student studying Management or French language course for their Internship program for the 2008-2009 academic year. The Internship is aimed at students who will be taking a year in industry as part of their course or a gap year. The position at Oracle is a 12 month posting based in the Healthcare and Life Sciences sector.

The Internship involves a great opportunity for involvement across many sectors of the business, from financial analysis and forecasting, assistantship to the Vice President of Healthcare and Life Sciences to event managament and marketing within the European, Middle Eastern and African (EMEA) region. The internship covers all sectors, with the opportunity to specialise according to preference as well as European travel.

Throughout the year, you will have access to ongoing training and development.

The Internship is aimed at students who will be taking a year out in industry, as part of their course. The position at Oracle is a 12 month posting, based in the Public Sector and Education Sector.

The Internships provides a great opportunity for involvement across many sectors of the business, from financial analysis and forecasting, assistantship to the Vice President of Public Sector and Education, to event managament and marketing within the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. The internship covers all sectors, with the opportunity to specialise, according to preference, as well as European travel.

Throughout the year, you will have access to on-going training and development
